EARS
Aster's ears do NOT have to appear 1:1 hellfire-wise, just do your best with the outline and have the colorful flames pointing upward (see my Mochi Moon prompts in Aster's gallery for some examples! (LINK WIP) I draw the ear without the flames to start so I know where the detail lines need to go to indicate the inner ear. For color, I usually start by filling a base layer with their blue fur color and adding the following to an alpha-locked layer. Start with the darkest red and apply furthest from Aster's stomach (facing outwards), and then blend a layer of the orange (you can make stylistic choices here!). Yellow is where the flame shapes start: keeping the orange visible, start creating yellow flames, fill them in and continue bringing the yellow toward the inner ear where the next color of flames will start (this ensures a nice transition while keeping the layers visible). Continue inward until you reach the deepest blue... you're done! (I use a customized rough brush to do this, but feel free to do your own thing :3)
TATTOOS
There are three 4-pronged star tattoos on their right temple, one on their left cheek, and two on their lower left abdomen. Their main tattoo is composed of three main branches: the center flame reaches up the "neck", the side branches have block shapes near their chest, then their right side (left on ref) goes into a W and their left (right on ref) goes into an S. I start by drawing a single line in the shape of each branch, and then grab a larger brush to trace the shapes and connect them. I add the additional flames in before making adjustments with the eraser.
MOTES
HORNS - The smallest hellfire-star motes sit at the tip of either horn. The tip of the flame doesn't usually extend past the highest part of the horn, however it can depending on atmospheric conditions and/or their mood. There is a small 4-pronged star mote on the outside of either horn.
HEAD - There are two hellfire-star motes above Aster's head--the larger of the two sits forward and the smaller sits behind the crown of Aster's head.
EARS - The two largest hellfire-star motes sit above the ears where Aster's fur meets the hellfire. There are pairs and groups of small 4-pronged stars on either side, usually placed dependent on image composition.
TAIL - There is a smaller hellfire-star more floating above the tip of Aster's tail. Remember that the tip of the flame should always point up, so if the tail is pointed down it will be partially covered by the hellfire of the mote.
