MYO-6325: Slade
Alright. Slade, baby. I said I wanted to change your backstory a while back.
So. Instead of doing the whole 'you were raised for fight bits/ forced to do that' thing, I'll say you raised with very little supervision in a sort or ruff and filthy sort of walled in back alley place called 'The Play Pen.' It was a type of demon orphanage with horrible practices. There was only so much food and other resources to go around, whenever your absentee demon caretakers could be bothered to remember to give you and the other children the basic necessities. As a result, Slade, you learned to bully and generally dominate others to get what you needed to survive. And because you happened to be a bit bigger and stronger than your littermates, you got away with it. Not to mention, they began to rely on you for protection from a few of the demon kids. Not that you felt obligated to. It's just that all dwellers of The Play Pen existed in an unpleasant hierarchy where they needed to make friends within groups to get by. Slade, you were not at the top of the food chain, but your violence won you enough respect that one of the early Pen leaders liked to keep you on their team. Better for you to be with them than against them.
There were a few littermates you actually kind of likdd, of course. Unfortunayely, one day, you accidentally beat up one of them so badly over food that they did not survive their injuries... The demon caretakers? Didn't particularly care. They *did*, however, find your sadness over your actions cruelly amusing. As twisted encouragement, to help you 'get over it', they temporarily took you out of The Playpen, gave you a comfortable place to sleep, good food to eat, tiny clothes to wear, and even toys to play with. They let you experience something besides the harshness of your usual routine for a a week or so, then tossed you back into the Playpen with the rest of the little succubuns and demon children.
Rather than making you feel better, it left you with a lot of complex feelings and emotional scars that, honestly, you have never quite recovered from.
And today, you're type of bun that doesn't necessarily enjoy what you do, but you are very good at it and get rewarded best for bad behavior. Hurting people may make you see yourself as a monster, but you have learned that, for you, it is the fastest way to get results and to escape from poverty.
You are a crime boss.
People recognize your gang by the collars they wear in general. But you wear your collar, and chains, as a personal form of deprecation and a reminder that no matter how far you manage to scramble your way out of the darkness or how powerful you get... you're still a monster.
You don't believe in redemption or anything. You'll take whatever your crimes continue to earn you, and are waiting for the day you get what you secretly feel you truly deserve.
You just haven't run into anyone strong and motivated enough to end you.
You mock people who are too kind to you as a defense mechanism, and actively flinch away from most gentle hands.
One of the contacts in Aquilla's network.
And Senzen works for you.
I think you maybe "married" high into the crime family you currently run. And several rival group fights later, the previous boss died and you were the highest ranked and strongest leader left atanding in your bunch. Your spouse didn't survive. You do miss them though.
To clarify, you don't miss them in a romantic sense. But you were sort of comfortable with their brand of aggravating BS. You two understood each other.
