Kane is a haughty and assertive type, some considering them rather snobbish and unpleasant due to their tendency to grow defensive when criticized. They don't get along with succubuns who are arrogant or think they're above them, as their egos will clash and their relationship will quickly end up devolving into animosity. As such, Kane tends to avoid other pride-subtype succubuns. Even if there's a chance they won't butt heads, he prefers not to take those chances.
Despite his arrogant appearance, Kane is very insecure, and seeks ego-boosting situations to maintain a feeling of control and and self-worth. He thinks highly of himself while also subconsciously feeling a great deal of self-loathing and a need to prove himself, and thus often tries to tear others down to feel better about himself. He thrives when the attention is on him and when he's in control. Despite his horns suggesting otherwise, Kane deals with a great deal of envy towards others, a feeling that has reared its head following some less-than-stellar experiences after coming to Burrowgatory.
Kane struggles with maintaining long-term intimate relationships. He frequently flirts and sleeps with others, but those relationships rarely go past that, and often are just one-night stands with no or minimal contact following the act. He is avoidant of forming connections and terrified of being vulnerable, but despite it all, he has managed to form a handful of close relationships - in particular, with his life partner, Merrit.
Kane loves to indulge in alcohol, particularly spirit-forward cocktails, and, of course, sex. They're also a bit of a film and music snob, and like to challenge their brain with puzzle and word games. Kane currently works as the lead financial accountant for an establishment called Willow Wisp Spa, though it's up for debate whether or not they're skimming some money off the top for themself...

Personality
Design Notes
Kane's doll form is intentionally designed with a "feminine" body type despite not being at all female or feminine in gender identity. This is mainly to conserve his status as a non-op transmasculine character that is present in the main, non-Succubuns iteration of him, but for in-universe reasons he is particularly inclined toward fashion that fits the body type he has, as well as enjoying standing out from the typical idea of "masculine." He hates the idea of being told how he should look to be a certain way, and intentionally tries to subvert those expectations.
Kane can wear his hair in a high ponytail, down, in a french braid, or in a loose bun, but the first two are most common. Outfits can also vary, but he has a tendency to stick with violets and purples - and the occasional green or teal. He has a scar over his right eye, sometimes covered or shadowed by his bangs which he has swept over to that side as well. His right iris is damaged and has a cataract that prevents him from being able to see well and causes pain in brightly-lit environments. Please keep this in mind if depicting him in an environment with bright or strobing lights!
His doll form is of average build, plush in his thighs and stomach area. His breasts would be considered a C cup and he does not usually present with body hair outside of pubic hair and maybe sometimes leg hair. He almost always sticks with a vulva + breasts when it comes to sexual characteristics.
Trivia
- This character is an alt form for a major character in my partner and I's Lobotomy Corporation/Project Moon OC fan-visual novel! They're forever homed and very very important to me.
- Kane considers his gender as both masculine and neutral, and not at all female - in their main verse, they're genderfluid and transmasculine and this is a very important part of their backstory. For succubuns, despite the lack of a gender binary, I'd prefer they be treated like a transmasculine character, as that's the intent behind their character in their main verse story.
- How exactly he got his eye injury is up in the air at the moment (I can't accurately adapt the main verse reason to succubuns for various reasons), but it has resulted in him having light-sensitive vision in that eye as well as migraines. He avoids places with excessively bright or strobing lights like the plague.
- He speaks with a Welsh accent! Not sure how this works lore-wise, maybe he was raised by a demon who spoke with one?
Relationships
Prior to meeting Merrit, Kane had never truly loved anyone. They had considered the idea of romance foolish and stupid, and coupled with the fact they struggled to form genuine connections with others, they never considered themself the type to fall in love. Upon realizing their feelings for Merrit, Kane was in denial for a bit before finally, with some help, acknowledging his feelings as real and forming a proper partnership with Merrit. Kane and Merrit trust each other completely and always fall back on each other for moral support. They currently share an apartment in the heart of Burrowgatory.
Lucine came into Kane's life by accident. Merrit had, quite suddenly, dragged a ragged and angry envy bun into their shared apartment one day, telling him that it'd be staying with them for the forseeable future. Kane was not happy with this at first...but the tension between them was undeniable, and they were unable to resist it for long. After a night of passionate fun, Kane had determined he wouldn't mind having Lucine around for a while... as long as it was willing to let him play with it how he wanted. Their relationship evolved past a sexual one with time, growing to form a genuine connection - though Kane does not express his fondness for Lucine as outwardly as he does for Merrit just yet.
