- Talo has a secret love for gardening! He's got a BUNCH of houseplants, and a secret garden near his place that he's been cultivating for the past 5 years!
- Lavender! It's his favourite colour AND his favourite flower!
- Talo loves meeting new people. Even if they don't end up friends, or even talking again, he still really appreciates that he even got to interact with them.
- Talo likes to grow flowers themed around the people in his life- typically their favourite flower! While he rarely shows anyone his personal garden, he still likes to grow them, as a reminder of the people he loves.
- He can't get enough of spicy foods.
- He's a fan of coffee!
- Talo ADORES soft things. Plushies, clothing, bedding- if it's soft, he's all over it.
🛇Dislikes
- Talo can't STAND dishonest people, especially the folks who put up a front and spend their lives lying and masking how they truly feel. He can't understand why someone would feel the need to pretend like that, and often gets deeply frustrated when encountering those kinds of people.
- He's not too big a fan of sweets! He'll often pass on a treat when offered, and if forced to take it, he'll hand it off to someone he knows will appreciate it.
✎Design Notes
The number one rule of drawing Talo's ear markings is thus: The diamonds never touch Talo's inner ear. It's small, but the separation between the two parts count, since they're both the same colour!
Originally, his colour palette skewed towards grey/teal/bronze, and he was planned to be the sleazy owner of an equally-as-sleazy speakeasy. Obviously that didn't pan out, as I was struggling with connecting to both his character and the planned palette. I went through a couple different iterations with his palette, initially focused on trying to find a good secondary colour, since the teal wasn't working. Eventually I ended up settling on the blue/cream combo he's got now, but it took a few days of brainstorming!
There's not too much to say about his doll, really. All I knew going into it was that Talo's doll would most likely end up shirtless, and my preference for simple outfits led to what he's got now.
The diamond patterns on his ears were originally circles! But they were changed to diamonds last minute to vaguely match with the star pattern on his hip.
★Trivia
- Name's pronounced "tay-low," and acceptable nicknames (in his opinion) are Tal and Tay. Granted, he'll answer to about anything these days.
- Personally I'd classify him as "himbo supreme." Buff, well-meaning, genuinely super sweet, and also so. So Stupid. No braincells in this man.
- Though he tends to come off as the cocky, confident sort, under the surface Talo is a rather good-natured- if a little awkward- man.
- Quick to befriend, yet very hard to anger. Those that earn Talo's ire have well and truly earned it, and he's a man who can hold a grudge for a lifetime. If a relationship sours with him, it's gone for good.
- He names all his pets after flowers- typically what kind of flower their Blooming varients take on.
- I intend to get him Cloudy and Gilded one day!
