A Good Home For Nibble

Shibani had requested to visit Nibble the Stellaram one more time after their day together, the training on holding still during bedtime being a smashing success. The Imp's antsy nature had calmed in Shibani's presence, and it didn't try to wriggle free as much when held for long periods of time. It even seemed to mimic Shibani's habits of spontaneously napping,  shutting it's eyes mid flight and bumping into walls when it isn't paying attention. 

"Perhaps a good farewell to the little fella would be to give him a bath before his new owner comes today. I managed to find a guy that has a loving home for a variety of Imps, so he will have lots of friends." Quince reassured Shibani, unpacking a set of combs and brushes. "This ones a lot of maintenance, it's wool can get matted if it isn't washed and groomed at least once a week. I can see why Dan didn't let you keep em. All that upkeep can be a big chore."

Shibani nodded. He felt he could do the work, but still he understood that he was making a decision that would effect Dan too. It was his shop after all. "Mm. I'd like to keep Nibble soft and fluffy for their owner. They deserve a nice bath." He scratched at the small Imp's back, causing it to nuzzle up into his palm. 

The light spray of the hose, a squirt of light pink shampoo, and flat hand brush did wonders to the Stellaram's dark luxurious coat. A glittering sheen seemed to gloss over the starry designs adorning it. Each rinse revealing more and more constellations hidden in it's wool. It was as if a whole galaxy of stars hid inside the Imp's fluffy body, just waiting to be seen. 

Once it was time to dry off the damp Imp, the sound of a sweet whistling tune seemed to fill the air from afar. Quince shifted her attention to the gate of the pen, and she stood to welcome her guest. "Ah. You must be Darlet. The lil guy is right over here." A black and orange coloured bun walked over to greet the two. Nibble being wrapped in a big towel as Shibani attempted to pat him dry. 

"Oh nice seeing you here 'Bani. And this must be little Nibble." Darlet plopped onto the ground, inspecting the wrapped up Imp with a wide grin. Nibble seemed to wriggle out of the fabric around it enough to get closer and sniff at the orange veins that covered the buns leg. Bumping it's head against him softly to see how he would react. Darlet reached out his hand and patted the Imp's horned head. "Nice to meet you too. I think you'd like Jekyll. He's a sleepy head too." Shibani let out a sigh, he felt at ease knowing he at least had an idea of who Nibble would be going to. 

"So. You want to keep the name Nibble?" He asked Darlet curiously. Most buns would simply name their Imp's themselves, but he already knew of Shibani's personal name for him. He wondered why Quince would mention it. 

"Well. He already seems to like and respond to it. Plus, I already planned on adopting this little dude days ago. But Quince told me that it was the only one that didn't want to stay still for anyone that tried to hold it. I recommended her to you for some extensive sleep training." Darlet's twisted smile seemed to shine when he mentioned that. This was news to Shibani, and when he looked to Quince, she just nodded slightly in acknowledgement of what he said. "I didn't know that you two would get so chummy after one night, but I'd be more than happy to let you visit Nibble whenever you feel like. The house is always open to guests. Just don't let Hyde on your back, he likes to chew things." He pointed to the ropes bound around Shibani's body. That, he would definitely need to watch out for.

Shibani looked at Nibble once more. Its tiny feet waddling back over to lean a fluffy little head against his thigh. He scratched at it's back once more, giving a gentle smile to Darlet. "Well. I hope you have lots of Mochi. They like midnight snacks."
