Tsubaki’s eye twitched as she stared down at Kasa. Initially, she had been worried when her sister didn’t answer the door. The two had made plans for that morning, so it was unusual for Kasa to not answer. Using the spare key she had been entrusted with, Tsubaki entered her sister’s home, only to find Kasa passed out on the couch in the living room rather than in her bed. Several empty alcohol bottles were strewn around on the coffee table and floor. Kasa could handle her alcohol well, but with the sheer amount she drank, Tsubaki wouldn’t be surprised if she had accidentally drank herself into a coma.

It wasn’t just the bottles though, far from it. Kasa had always been a hefty eater as a gluttony type, but this trait only intensified when she was drunk. A bunch of empty food containers and dishes were also piled all around the coffee table, the kitchen counter, as well as the entirely full sink that seemed to be balancing precariously, as if the dish mountain might topple over any second. Tsubaki rubbed at her temples, already annoyed. Her sister was lucky that she loved her. With that thought in mind, Tsubaki got to work.

Starting with the dish mountain in the sink, Tsubaki carefully disassembled it so it wasn’t in danger of crashing. Stacking all the dishes on the side of the counter, she made sure the sink was empty before filling up one of the compartments with soapy water. After at least an hour of washing, rinsing, and drying, Tsubaki finally finished washing all the dishes from both the counter and coffee table. Next, she took a garbage bag and gathered up all the empty bottles before tying the ends of the bag and taking it out to the dumpster.

When she returned, Kasa’s home was now clean, but her sister was still happily snoring away on the couch. Tsubaki shook her. “Hey, wake up.” She prompted. No response. Tsubaki shook her a little harder. “Kasa, wake up.” Still her sister didn’t budge. Tsubaki sighed. There was one way she knew of that would for sure wake her up. Trudging back to the kitchen, Tsubaki looked around for what kind of food and ingredients Kasa had on hand. Her sister had cleared out most of the food while on her bender last night, but there were still basics such as sugar and flour. There was still one breakfast food she could make.

Soon after, Kasa found herself waking up to the sweet scent of pancakes. The smell of food was basically always guaranteed to wake her up from even the deepest of slumbers. Sitting up from the couch, she glanced over to see her sister sitting at the table, staring at her expectantly. “Shit, what time is it?” Kasa had completely forgotten that she had planned to meet with Tsubaki this morning. Standing up, she stumbled over to the table, taking the empty seat with a large stack of pancakes in front of it.

“It’s noon.” Tsubaki answered, taking a bite of her pancakes.

“Sorry, sis.” Kasa sighed, “I completely forgot.”

“That’s okay,” Tsubaki smirked. “This just means you’ll have to make it up to me.”

Kasa groaned and slumped in her chair. ‘Making it up’ to Tsubaki inevitably meant taking her on a shopping trip where Kasa paid for everything. As she slumped though, she finally had time to take in the extremely clean state of her home. Last night was a haze, but she knew herself well enough that there was always a lot to clean up in the morning whenever she got drunk. “You cleaned for me?” She sat up straighter in her seat as she looked at the kitchen and back to the living room.

“I did,” Tsubaki confirmed. “I figured you would have a massive hangover after all of that alcohol you drank so I wanted to make things a little bit easier while you recovered.”

“Heh,” Kasa smirked. “Why do you think I eat so much when I drink? The food absorbs most of it. I haven’t had a bad hangover in years.”

Tsubaki frowned, opening her mouth to respond when Kasa cut her off. “Thanks, though. I appreciate it.”

Tsubaki’s lips curved into a smile. Familial relationships were uncommon in Burrowgatory, but she couldn’t imagine life without her sister, no matter how much of a pain she could sometimes be.

Tsubaki doesn't have a romantic relationship yet so I decided to show a familial relationship for the prompt!
