Imp Journal
Day 1
I was sent home with a uniqor. She loves to nuzzle. She is currently in my lap as I write. Hutch gave simple instructions, including keeping her from mochi and dango if she is to stay one color. I grabbed a book on imp care from my store so I could read tonight. I am supposed to return to Hutch in a week or if I get overwhelmed.
Day 2
The uniqor follows me everywhere and tries to sleep in the most inconvenient spots. I’ll take her to go bed shopping after lunch. She is very smart, as it seems she avoids laying on anything with wet ink. That being said, I do have ink prints all over my counter from her walking on some fresh writing. I may have to invest in pencils and put my dip pens up until I can train her to not step on fresh ink.
Day 3
She had picked out the most ornate bed. I bought two, so she’d have a nap place at my home and at work. That is where she is currently. I’ve started calling her Maria. It felt weird having her without her having a name. Maybe Hutch will let me keep her. She loves juice, I wonder if that will cause problems in the future. I have managed to keep her away from dango and mochi at the moment, but I think she stole a few of my pomegranate arils this morning. Hard to tell.
Day 4
She did steal some arils today. Caught her head in the bowl. They don’t seem to do anything to her, but I’ll have to keep a closer eye on my food. She’s currently running around a bare room. I think I need to buy her some imp toys, otherwise I may wake to furniture or pillows missing some of their softness.
Day 5
She loves the toys. I got her a climbing tree, a few squeaking toys, and a feather thing that I hung from the ceiling. I did get some toys that are designed to play together, but she seems happier to play on her own terms. She keeps leaping up and down the tree, a definite favorite. My empty room is slowly becoming an imp paradise.
Day 6
I have neglected to write that Maria has spent every night in my bed. She cuddles as close to my face as she possibly can. Honestly it is cute. I’m going to pick her up a special treat for tomorrow. Maybe it will make her happy. I noticed she keeps trying to go into the baker’s shop near my store. I know what I’m getting for her.
Day 7
My plan went horribly wrong and I meet Hutch to talk about what I’ve learned this evening. I had planned to get just a plain pound cake for her as everything I’ve read says nothing about this affecting an imp, much less a uniqor. In a matter of seconds, she had found her way to a sparkling wine mochi. She sprouted wings and turned a lovely purple with gold. Hopefully Hutch understands.
Amaryllis decides to journal her attempt at caring for an imp.
