Presents for Mercy

Due to the moon festival the church was much more alive than usual. Oleander was taking a water break before following another bun into his office, for privacy reasons. Meanwhile others were bustling in and out of Mercy's room. They took much less time than those who went into Oleander's office.

Isdis pushed the door open and watched the buns bustle in and out. Some looked tired and satisfied and some stopped at the altar for a quick prayer. She made sure to step out of the way so they can leave as they please.

She shifted and headed towards Mercy's office, upon reaching it she gently rapped her knuckles against the wood of the door. It was quiet for a few moments but then Mercy called out. "Come in!"

Pushing the door open, Isdis offered her a soft smile. "Hello Mercy, how's your day going?"

Mercy chuckled softly. "It's been a busy day, many buns need blessed water, I'm assuming that's why you're here."

"Yes," Isdis softly admitted. "I apologize for adding more to you're plate."

Mercy waved her hand in a way that said it was okay. She moved and waved her hand at a seat.  "Please, sit."

Shifting Isdis sat at the chair that was across from Mercy's desk. "Thank you. I see that Oleander is quite busy, I saw he only had enough time to chug some water."

Mercy clicked her tongue softly, "Oleander likes to keep things on his plate, but don't worry I make sure he doesn't overwork himself. If I let him, he will." Mercy ran her hands over a couple of papers she had on her desk, most likely papers pertaining to adoptions, she then swooped them up and tapped them into a neat pile before putting them in her desk drawer. "Now, I'm assuming you heard of my price for the water."

Isdis chuckled softly. "Yes, I brought you a variety of things. Shake it up a bit, yknow?"

"Goodie, go ahead, show me." Mercy clapped her hands together. Despite working at the church and bunnery she absolutely adored things. She didn't get to indulge in her sin too much so when she could she did.

Isdis opened her bag and dug in it for a few moments before pulling out a bag of carats. "Starting with some carats. Even if I'm sure you're already flowing with them." She laughed.

"More never hurts." Mercy said gleefully and took the bag to count the pretty gems. She loved how much they glimmered and gleaned. The way the light hit them and they were the prettiest shade of pink. Beautiful. After counting them she dropped them in her bottom drawer where the rest of the bags of carats sat. She'd add them to her hoard once the church closed for the night.

After a few moments of rifling Isdis pulled a cute but modest dress. "Then there's this one. I figured it'd fit your figure but also wouldn't show too much.  Something cute for your days off."

Mercy picked up the package and removed the dress. Standing she walked over to her mirror and held it up to her body. Her eyes sparkled with excitement. "Oh I absolutely love it. I can't wait to wear it out."

"I'm glad you like it." Then she pulled out a container and sat it on the desk. "And to round it off, some dinner."

Mercy inhaled softly. "Thank you. I love everything. Did you get it from somewhere-?" Just in case she liked it, and then she could go get more.

"Nope, I made it myself."

"I didn't know you could cook."

"I only really do it on occasion or for Miles or Juno." She hummed softly.

"Ah, okay, give me a moment." She sat the dress down before opening a door and disappearing into it. She gently took one of the containers that was fresh spring water, before she sat it on the little altar in the room and prayed over it to bless it.

She then tied it up to make sure the lid wouldn't fall off in transit. Taking it out of the room she held it out to Isdis. "Here you go. One just for you."

Isdis stood up and gently took the container in her hands. "Thank you, Mercy."

"You're welcome, also if you plan on going to Oleander wait til tomorrow. I'm about to tell him he's done for the night."

"I hear you loud and clear." She laughed and put the container in her bag, slipping it over her shoulder and she opened the door.

Mercy followed her out of the room and waved goodbye to Isdis before crossing the church and went. "Last one Oleander! It's late!"

There was a muffled reply, probably him agreeing. Isdis just shook her head and headed out of the church. Another ingredient checked off her list.
