Arcade bar blind date

“Goddamn it, Lilith…” Billie cursed under his breath, as he reluctantly descended the staircase to the arcade bar. Harsh, neon lights, the chatter of dozens patrons, and the music, beeping and whirring of game machines stung his ears and eyes as he entered the establishment. He'd told her numerous times, he wasn't interested in going on a date, especially one for Matentine’s. She spent so long planning it, she said, which is the only reason he agreed. At least she wasn't working here tonight, for her own sake. He'd no idea who he was supposed to be meeting, just to tell the on duty bartender why he was here. He ordered a vodka cola, and was redirected to a private booth. Of course she'd organised them their own room. No escape from his date there. He sat down inside, mop of hair covering his face, as he waited for this mystery bun to show up.

Takiro always kind of liked the idea of a blind date, he didn't do much for matentines last year. So when a friend of his told him a date, time and place for a blind date. He gladly accepted his fate. Though he was often always a little late to everything so he arrived at this honestly very charming arcade bar. His perky ears were constantly turning to the sounds of pinballs and other buns laughing and having fun. “It's perfect here.” He mumbled before happily walking to the bartender. He ordered a rather simple wine, not wanting to get too drunk and show his crazy side to the poor bun he was about to meet. He made his way to the private booth and when he did get there, his little mischievous smile only grew a little more seeing such a gloomy looking bun. “Hiya there,” Takiro said, trying to give a more happy vibe to himself rather than his usual mischievous self. He sat down across from the bun brushing his pink bangs out of his face. “I'm Takiro.” He said with that same mischievous smile.

Billie’s tired eyes scanned the individual up and down for a few seconds. A huge smile, bubbly demeanor, not the kind of company he typically kept. This “Takiro” had way too much energy for him, and seemed way eager to be here. He could already see how this would go, too much chatter, too much info of this guy's life, too many personal questions the dark haired envy bun wasn't going to want to answer, but would have to anyway. This was going to be quite a long night, without a doubt. He took a sip of his drink, placed it down, and crossed his arms, giving a heavy sigh. “Billie. You seem…” he hesitated for a moment, insulting this guy probably wasn't a good idea.’ “Cheerful.”

Takiro watched Billie, seeing the slight face changes as he thought made him more interested in what the bun was thinking. He hummed when he finally heard the others name, it was a matching fit. “Cheerful huh? I suppose I am.. you seem rather gloomy but, I like that.” He said as he leaned back and stared at Billie. Takiro placed his hand on the rim of his glass slowly dragging his hand down before grabbing it then taking a sip. “I've never been on a blind date before. Its honestly kind of exciting seeing the type of bun you're set up with.” He said before setting the glass down. He narrowed his eyes slightly before smiling again. “Our little match maker sure decided to go with opposites with us huh?” Takiro said sorta in a teasing tone.

He couldn't tell if his intention was to mock him, or flirt with him. Neither was something he particularly liked. Either way, Takiro seemed like the type who was going to drag this out as long as he could, whatever his thoughts were. “She likes to have her fun, anyway…” Billie necked back the remainder of his glass, while trying to think of something. Should he attempt to flirt back? That would probably just encourage him further, not what he particularly wanted. Ask him about himself? Then he'd have to answer his own questions. That mightn’t be that bad though, perhaps he could convince this guy to keep away from him in the future. He attempted to feign being interested, but doubted it was successful. Acting was never his strong suit. “So, Takiro, you said. What do you like to do in your free time?”

Takiro placed his elbow on the table, placing his chin on his hand as he looked at Billie. Honestly being fully engrossed in this bun. “I like doing plenty of things, I like playing the guitar, I've also grown a liking to taking care of flowers.” He said not wanting to reveal every single detail about himself to the other. “There's more but not much I can really think of at the moment. What about yourself Billie, what do you like to do in your free time~” takiro said, clearly taking the chance to have a flirtatious tone to return the question. His finger lightly tapping the table and his ears slightly turning in directions of loud sounds that sometimes would capture his attention. Though he refused to take his eyes off of Billie… not even for a second.

“Electric or acoustic?” Takiro’s unending gaze, and the undeniably flirty voice made him slightly uncomfortable, so he began to focus his own eyes on the tapping of his hand on the table. He took a moment to think, before answering. “I play the drums myself, but it's little more than a minor interest. Blow off some anger while not on…” Too much information, not something he wanted to give. “I prefer just to put on music and listen to it, rather than attempt to make it myself. Boxing. And, let's just say making artwork.” Billie gave a quick scan of his expression and body language, attempting to read him, before returning his focus to the rhythmic tapping of the table.

Takiro smiled. “Both, usually whatever I'm in the mood for.” He said, his eyes following everyone movement the other made. Takiro was often very attentive around new buns. “Drums huh. I never could pick that up. Its a great talent to have.” He said with a less mischievous smile. “Boxing and artwork very nice. What kind of art do you make?” He asked his eyes still refusing to leave the other bun. Takiro wasn't always easy to read but sometimes he definitely was. Though right now it was a mix, it was kind of plain to see in the little clouds attached to his ears that he was feeling just a little nervous. Little parts of the clouds separating from each other.

“Let's just say the kind that requires a place you really shouldn't be, the cover of darkness, and a couple of cans.” One bun in discomfort, the other clearly attempting to hide his nerves, he wanted out of this room. He looked down at his empty glass, and Takiro's only partially full one. An excuse to get out of this conversation. A small smile crept across his face, though it was clearly forced, his eyes betraying him. Billie stood up, picking up his empty glass. “Huh, what do you say we actually make use of the rest of this place. It's too warm in here, and I could use another drink. The games they have here are supposedly good. Good enough I ne- uh the bouncer needs to drag people off of them when the place is closing up.”

When Billie revealed that he liked to do graffiti he couldn't help but grin a little. He always had a liking for graffiti. He watched the other stand, slowly lifting his head off of his hand as he turned his head towards Billie. “Oh, sure.” He said before getting out of the booth and grabbing his glass. Sometimes he'd forget to drink when he was so caught up in conversations. “Well let's get you another drink then destroy some of these games.” Obviously not actually wanting to break the machines. Takiro happily walked back to the bar, his tail slightly swaying as he walked. The jewelry on it gets a little tangled up in one another. Once they reached the bar he just kind of stood there and let Billie order another drink. Meanwhile he looked around a little, trying to figure out what games would be most enjoyable. Hopefully a game that would make this less awkward for the two of them.

Once the envy bun paid, and the bartender handed over the freshly made drink, Billie turned around, giving a quick scan to see what games were free. Dancing, he had no intention of performing in front of this guy. Air hockey? Meh, not Billie's thing. Pool, what's the point, just go to a regular bar at that point. He said he liked guitar- as he was about to suggest it, another bun inserted a token. There was a pair of connected racing games. Competing against each other, now that could be entertaining. He pointed the machine out and asked “How about a race?”

Takiro smiled at the suggestion of a race. Obviously he took that up, he liked completive games and this one could be fun. They played a couple rounds, both of them winning different times. After maybe an hour of the two playing games, they decided it was time for their blind date to come to an end. Takiro had more fun then he was first expecting though he did hope to maybe end up friends with the bun. As they exited the bar, Takiro turned to Billie and offered a smile. “I had a lovely time with you today. I hope to at least be friends with you in the future.” Takiro said as he shoved his hands in his pockets. He was admittedly very tired and was looking forward to sleeping. He gave a small wave to Billie before walking the opposite way. Leaving the blind date feeling… somehow accomplished.

It was subtle, but Billie gave a small smile, genuine this time, just before he departed. “Yeah, that'll be nice, see you around?” Once Takiro started walking, he began his own route back home.
