Sparkle On - 2025

When he first heard of the event, Seth wasn’t sure how the whole thing went down. It was a newer kind of festival than he was used to, but it sounded like a fun time, so he went down to the shop to find some things that he had seen being popular. The shops were lined with fireworks and sparklers, and he couldn’t stop the sparkle in his dark eyes.

“Whoa… There are so many options here… In all kinds of colors, too… Maybe I’ll pick up a few and try them out when I can.” He muttered to himself before picking up some sparklers and a firework or two.

Seth paid for his items and then made his way out with his bag to head back home, overhearing a few other buns talking about a small fireworks show after the glimmering sky went a bit darker. There was enough time to figure out a plan for both things to happen.

Apparently, the show would be a bit earlier for those who want to celebrate in a more… Intimate way. This could work in his favor. Seth would set up his fun after the show with the fireworks and sparklers.

“Let’s see… Take these home and change clothes before heading back out later to see the fireworks show… Head home and then play with my stuff from earlier~ Sounds like a plan to me~” Seth mumbled to himself as he walked home.

Unlocking his door and walking into his home, he gently put down the bag before heading to his slightly untidy room. They had tried to teach him to keep things clean when he was younger, but he finds it a drag to clean so much.

After he tiptoed through the mess, his hands went to his closet and started rustling through articles of clothes. There were many shades of greys with pops of colors now and then. This was going to be a colorful party, and he needed something sleek and a little showy.

Seth soon found himself in a lovely outfit consisting of gloves and a nice, hooded jacket, knee-length pants, and a stylish hat on top. It was tied together with a bag hanging off his shoulder and a few pieces of jewelry.

This would be one of the more social things he had done in a while. It made him nervous, but things would go alright. Right?

Walking to the venue, he looked at the other buns getting there and listened as his hooves clicked on the ground quietly while taking in the atmosphere around him.

“They seem to be in good spirits. I should try to do the same... The last time I was out in public, I nearly took out one of the more important buns in town… I hope that this will be different… Huuuu… I guess things could be worse!” Seth tried to keep his voice down as he patted his face lightly to calm his nerves and then went to find a place to sit.

He pulled out a small blanket he had packed before laying it on the grass to relax and look up at the sky above him. If this spot ended in disaster, there was always time to stand and move around. His breath was seen in the cold evening air within the time he had been seated.

After a short while of looking around, the show began roaring to life above him in the sky. Seth noticed a lot more buns around him than before, but no one seemed to get in his line of sight, so he stayed put.

The fireworks exploded one after the other in the sky and in such an array of colors that he found himself starstruck. One after the other in so many shapes it would probably make his head spin, caused by the joy he felt, that he brought his hands together. Wings fluttered behind him as the bright lights burst into the sky and he smiled happily to himself.

Within an hour, the fireworks show slowly ended and he waited a moment before standing and gathering his blanket.

“That was amazing… Something I’m glad I didn’t miss~ The colors were so bright, and the sounds made such a rumbling low growl type~ It was so neat~” Seth smiled as he wandered down the road and path to his home again.

After returning home, he changed from his more social wear to a more comfortable outfit to go back outside with his smaller fireworks and sparklers. This wasn’t quite as long as the show, but he had fun on his own while he lit the sparkler and watched the various fireworks pop and sizzle.

This was quite a big day for him, and he couldn’t wait for more celebrations and events taking place around the area.
