What’s A Cherubun To Do?!
There must have been some divine karma for forsaking the Heavenly Meadow and living among the burrows, or rather that’s what Lapis wondered. Why else would he give himself in clothes that barely fit because he allowed the band to convince him to walk around Sinner’s Day’s celebrations.
It was bad enough that most of everything turned him bright red, but the devil costume he wore was too much. He refused a skirt that Quinn suggested, but somehow, the shorts might be worse, no matter how much he tried to tug them down, a bit of his rear was showing. It was only made worse by the corset Damien made him wear, the poor cherubun was ready to crawl in a hole and never come out.
At least the demon horn headband was funny, it made him smile every time he passed a window, so long as he didn’t look down at the rest of himself.
He was also a little cross that the band ditched him, but he did have Quinn’s number and the succubun swore if Lapis was feeling overwhelmed, he’d come running to take him home.
It was only when he resolved himself to call the gluttonous bun and leave, that someone called out to him. “What?”
“Didn’t hear me?” The succubun smiled, boldly wrapping an arm around the startled cherubun’s shoulders and leaned in close against his ear, “I said, you’ve come a long way huh? You must be enjoying the festivities and debauchry? Maybe looking for some yourself?”
Lapis’ mouth dropped open, almost stunned into silence as he stuttered through his words. “I-I.”
The other doll continued easily, “I’m Eislyn, I’d offer to get you a drink, but cherubuns can only drink coffee right?”
It took everything in Lapis to speak, to choke out some words, before he started feeling faint. “M-My friends invited me out, I don’t, I haven’t, um.” He was starting to shake like a leaf.
Eislyn didn’t seem bothered by Lapis’ nervousness, instead he continued, “I like your shorts, you don’t really see cherubun wearing stuff like that.”
Lapis once again tugged at the hem of his shorts, “I was told everyone dresses like this for Sinner’s Day. The costumes.”
“Well not everyone, it just depends on the bun,” Eislyn shrugged.
Lapis froze, feeling entirely silly now, he was under the impression that he would stick out like a sore thumb if he dressed normally. “Oh.”
Eislyn nudged Lapis carefully, “Why don’t you walk with me? I’ll show you more of Sinner’s Day and everyone can admire the hot cherubun on my arm.”
“What, I’m not, that’s…!” Lapis covered his bright red face in embarrassment, he wished he stayed home, this was so embarrassing.
Eislyn’s voice softened, being blunt, “Don’t be scared, no one’s gonna make you do anything you don’t want to. Most succubuns are good enough people.”
Lapis bit his lip, he didn’t know about that, but this succubun didn’t seem so scary. He was roughly the cherubun’s height and he was soft spoken, almost as if he was about to fall asleep.
Lapis cleared his throat, “You promise?”
Eislyn could have laughed at the other doll’s naivety, but there was something cute about it. “Sure, come on. There’s a ton to see going on.” And if he was lucky, maybe convince the cherubun to show off a little.
Whatever the case might be, Lapis was going to experience his first Sinner’s Day and while he didn’t expect it would be with a stranger, he decided to live on the edge just a little. That’s what being a rock bun was all about right?
Taking risks on a day that said you could.
