[SOLO] Tairghain and the Pruning

Tairghain sat back and rested for a bit while watching some other buns continue with the gardening. After digging and fertilizing an entire garden plot with her own two muscles, no one could possibly begrudge her a break. Farming was definitely not a skill set she wished to lay claim to, but if she was going to be farming anything, at least she could be doing the most muscularly demanding tasks. That being said, she still stared at the watering cans wearily. Maybe if they had like... giant 50-gallon barrels for watering, she would find that more interesting... but these dinky little cans just... they were just beneath her. She couldn't bring herself to do it.

That meant that the only other task left available to her was pruning. It was just like sword fighting, right? Basically the same thing, only fighting plants instead of beasts. With a few swings of hew sword, she knew she'd be done in moments. Walking over to a patch, she hefted her blade and went to go swing it at a poor, unsuspecting plant, when a shrill voice cried out, "WAAAAIIIIT!"

Tair stopped mid-swing, and looked over at the bun who stopped her, scowling, "Ees not a great idea to stop ah voman svinging a svword, m'lady." The other bun stopped short and stared at Tair with a mix of incredulity, wariness, and annoyance, "Ma'am you can't just go 'svinging' your sword at these plants, that isn't how we prune them! What ever possessed you to think they would survive that?!"

Tair paused for a moment and put her sword back in its sheath, standing there with slightly confusion, scratching her chin, "Okay. I see your point. Vell zen, vat do I use to cut?"

The stranger pulled out some tiny, scissor-looking things and held them up, "These are pruning sheers. You have to cut precisely in the right place to get rit of wilting leaves and dried out blooms so that the rest of the plant can grow stronger."

It was Tair's turn to start at the stranger with incredulity; how was anyone supposed to get anything done with such tiny blades?! She grunted in frustration and snatched the pruning sheers out of the stranger's paws, "Vell, fine zen."

Turning back to the task, Tair gave a slight groan and bent down to look closer at the plants, reaching forward to take a brown leaf in one paw while using the other to snip it off at the base. Once the bossy stranger was satisfied that Tair was not going to go around butchering the plants, she hopped away. This left Tair to continue cutting along, grumbling to herself about wasted time and useless tasks. Perhaps it would have just been better for her to do watering. She tried to imagine that she was waging a tiny war against tiny, green adversaries. It... didn't really work, but it was better than just being annoyed. Perhaps once she was doner with this she could go swing her sword at something more interesting.
