Hops had planned to wait for Jarlath in the garden, but as soon as she came outside, it seemed like she was the one that was late. Jarlath was on his hands and knees, grumbling to himself as he trying to organize a collection of pipes and metal. He had obviously been doing this for a while, if the small metal flowers throughout the garden were anything to go by. "Jarlath? What are you-?" She started, but before she could finish asking the question, she got her answer. "Sprinkler System." She gawked. "Sprinkler System!? You didn't have to do that! I got the watering cans earlier and it's not like the Hazeblooms will grow forever!" Despite her small bit of panic, Jarlath didn't seem to be pulled away from his work. "You've already got the garden set up, would be a shame to just let it sit there after Hazebloom season. Could grow a lot of other stuff here, strawberries, mint, stuff for your drinks, flowers maybe. And if you don't use it, maybe could con someone into renting the garden. Knowing Angora it'd probably be far too expensive for me to consider doing it, but someone else might."
Hops blinked, deciding to start filling up the watering cans as she listened to the other's words. He... really thought about this a lot, huh? "That makes sense, why the sprinkler system, though? It's not required for a garden, is it?" Jarlath shook his head. "Not necessarily, just think that it'll be better for the plants. I'm sure if I left the watering entirely up to you or someone else, they'd die of dehydration faster than Angora can scam a sucker out of fifty carats." Hops gasped, stomping a foot on the ground. "H-Hey! I can remember to water plants just fine!" She paused then, her expression going from offended to embarrassed quickly. She knew that she would be more likely to forget about the plants altogether if they weren't hazeblooms, and she was aware that Jarlath knew this fact too, so there wasn't exactly too much point in pretending otherwise. "Still, it's... a good system, and you didn't have to do all of this for me so, thank you."
She almost seemed afraid of what the next response would be? Would he realize he was doing all of this for free and ask her for payment? Would he laugh at her? Or, even worse, would he just get up and leave without finishing helping? Thankfully, it was none of those things, a harsh metal sound being made before the red and black succubun lifted himself off the ground. "You're welcome. It should be working now." And as if on cue, the sprinklers came on, watering the entire garden in only a few seconds. Though Hops was happy at how simple it was now, and how quick it took, her expression turned sour again upon making a realization.
"It works so well, it's perfect! But... now what do I do with these watering cans?"
