Galentines Date

The haberdashery was a disaster, scraps of fabrics and design notes were scattered across every surface while the gluttony bun busied himself with finishing the final touches on a custom outfit for his beloved companion. Mothra, his best friend, had commissioned the gluttony bun to make her a new, original outfit for her upcoming movie premier and Jervis wanted it to be absolutely perfect. Jervis loved the opportunity to experiment and play around with his designs and really push the boundaries when it came to fashion and extraordinary designs. He stepped back taking a moment to admire his hard work, he hoped that Mothra would like it once it was finally finished.

He carefully dusted his paws together before starting to clean up his work space, though he was quickly interrupted by the loud, low bongs of the old grandfather clock taking up residence in the main foyer of his store. Oh fiddlesticks he was late, a loud gasp followed as he quickly scrambled to his feet, he was supposed to meet up with Mothra for a fun little Mateintines lunch and he was supposed to leave fifteen minutes ago. He quickly grabbed a beautiful bouquet wrapped in black paper and tied with a delicate silver ribbon. There was also a note attached he had written about how much he appreciated and cherished Mothra and her friendship. 

He paused at the door making a quick mental list to assure he had everything he needed before rushing out the door. Soon enough he arrived at the cafe they had planned to meet at, slowing down Jervis glanced about the street before his eyes settled on Mothra who had already gone inside the cafe and sat down. He quietly stepped through the door of the cafe, the little bell tinkling overhead, making his way over towards the table. The clock on the wall indicated he was nearly forty-five minutes late, “I’m so sorry for my delay dear, I lost track of time” He greeted as Mothra’s attention raised from her menu. 

“No worries Jervis darling, I understand your work keeps you quite busy” She exclaimed before leaning forward lowering her voice to a low whisper, “Plus the argument the couple is having in the booth behind us has been keeping me quite entertained”

A small smile took hold of Jervis’s features as he presented the bouquet of flowers to her, an array of yellow roses, daffodils, and sunflowers each carefully picked for a deeper meaning. Yellows roses to symbolize friendship and adoration, daffodils for good fortune and creativity, and finally sunflowers to symbolize a long lasting happiness and friendship. A bright smile took hold of the bun’s features as she quickly took the beautiful bouquet into her paws admiring each of the brightly colored flowers, there were of course the filler flowers like different types of leafy greenery, Baby’s breath, and Queen Anne’s lace but the bright yellows of the main flowers were so warm and eye catching. “Jervis, these are absolutely beautiful” Mothra gasped, before holding the bouquet to her face taking a deep whiff of the floral fragrances before running her paws over the soft texture of the petals. “I see you’ve brushed up on your flower language a little beforehand” She chuckled, shaking her head at the kind gift given to her. 

Jervis chuckled and nodded, “I can’t help it, I enjoy learning and attempting to master new hobbies. I figured flower language might be the most fitting to take up considering we’re in the month of Matentines” He explained with a curt nod of his head.

“Well keep at it, might be a handy little skill to have when you find Mister or Misses right and need to confess” Mothra teased with a bright grin, even though he couldn’t see it behind her large red glasses he knew she had probably given him a sly wink. “Happy Matentines Jervis, I’m glad we could spend it together this year” she tact on, a warm smile taking hold of her features as she carefully took his pawn in hers before giving it a gentle squeeze.

“Happy Matetines Mothra” He sighed, returning the content, comfortable smile before turning his attention towards the menu so they could continue on with their scheduled platonic date.
