[Gift] Olympia & Ballini Ball Gowns
When Olympia entered Cottontail Couture to perhaps convince Peter into making her yet another elaborate outfit; preferably for the upcoming fancy ball she had been invited to, she was not too pleased to see him preoccupied with another client. Peter was leaned over a counter, a sketchbook open in front of him and he was speaking to another customer who happened to be a dancer that Olympia recognized as Ballini. With a frown, she approached the pair only to hear them discuss outfits for the very same ball she needed it for. Huh. Apparently Ballini was more than just some pretty dancer, she dabbled in fashion design.
When Olympia got closer, she spotted one of the two sketches that Ballini had open in the notebook. It was gorgeous floor length gown, the base was sweetheart strapless with flowing skirt then there was a lovely sheet fabric over top with boat neckline, flowing sleeves and skirt. It was embroidered in a mix of flowers and jewels especially around the waist, chest and down the skirt as well as up the sleeves. The waist was clinched with a belt.
The other one was of beautifully draped off shoulder dress with one fabric going over the other creating a lovely sweetheart neckline and had lace peeking out from under. The sleeves were small armbands. The skirt were layers upon layers of ruffles with the occasional lace going down to the floor with a stunning flare out. At the waist was a lovely ribbon belt.
"Which one do you think I should wear for myself, Peter?"
"The ruffles one" both Olympia and Peter replied; Peter and Ballini both jerking up to stare at the sloth who had just interrupted.
"Excuse me?!" "OH! Hello Olympia" Olympia was amused by the way Ballini looked indignant at her while Peter smiled friendly. Olympia then frowned as Ballini looked at her up and down then
"......You are right, the other one will suit you better. I assume you are also going to the upcoming grand ball?"
Olympia propped a hand on an hip "Correct"
Ballini sighed "Guess I could help you get yours sorted out"
"Are you offering to do all of the work?" Olympia stared at her rather pointedly and Ballini just shook her head
"You're demanding but fine. We're going to get your measurements but first we need to pick out the colours"
"We?" "Yes. We. You're going to have a say in this"
Olympia stared at Ballini who stated rather dryly "I'm not going to pick fabrics out only for you to despise them. Waste of my time"
The sloth sighed "You have a point." Peter chuckled at the pair as they went off to find fabrics. Almost immediately they got into arguments about colour choices and Peter just rubbed the bridge of his nose in exasperation at the two women. Ballini and Olympia agreed on a fabric reminiscent of rose quartz along with a beautiful glimmering light opal-reflective fabric. They would compliment her appearance beautifully and Peter was relieved when Olympia didn't argue against Ballini regarding the gems for embroidery. If anything, she looked pleased when the greedy doll picked up rose gold embroidery thread as well as fabric for the belt.
"It will compliment you well" "You as well"
Peter had to muffle his laughter at how sour Ballini got at that response
"She really does not like gold and only grudgingly conceded regarding rose gold"
Olympia had a giggle at that as the trio went to get Ballini her fabrics. She had tried to pull amethyst purple but Ballini had stopped her, explaining she wanted to branch out colors as purples and whites were frequent colors in her wardrobe. They eventually agreed on lovely malachite green fabric with obsidian lace. Olympia had insisted on the belt being obsidian and Ballini had conceded. Peter was surprised when Olympia managed to convince the dancer into dark titanium for jewelry. Soon the trio were heading to the cutting table and Ballini had insisted on getting Olympia's measurments so her fabric could be accurately cut.
"I'm not Peter or Velveteen, I cannot get measurements just by eying you up" she had explained as she wrapped the measuring tape around Olympia's body before she set to cutting the fabric up
"May as well go. I'll have them ready in three days along with the jewelry" Ballini had sighed as Olympia blew kisses while departing much to Peter's amusement.
In exactly three days, Olympia had returned to Cottontail Couture and was pacing impatiently while Peter went through his inventory with much amusement. Ballini had not shown up and therefore must be late according to Olympia's logic. Really, she was rather early and Peter understood the impatience.
When the dancer showed up, Olympia greeted her with a "Finally!" before Ballini dragged her into the dressing room to put on the new dresses.
She was right, the two fabrics Ballini had picked out for Olympia looked fantastic as she twirled in her lovely embroidered sheer dress. Peter knew the pair would be a show stopper at the ball and Ballini had not even put on hers yet.
Merry Christmas! Hope it's good.
