Mixology 101
"Hops?" Cora tipped his head to the side, watching the bartender tip her head back to down a drink, before she swiftly spun on her heel and smacked the glass down behind her, face flushing slightly after being caught. Cora grinned a little, amused.
"Oh! Oh good. It's just you." She giggled a little and glanced around, glad that it was just Cora coming in for a mixology lesson. "You spooked me for a second there. You came for a lesson, right?" She smiled and quickly made a little fruity drink he came in for occasionally, sliding it over. "My treat before we begin, as long as you keep things between us." She winked, pouring herself a shot while he nodded and sipped on his little bribe.
"Didn't see a damn thing." He chuckled, jokingly covering the third eye marking on his forehead, and slipped behind the bar, leaning against it and knocking the rest of his drink back before looking back over at Hops. "What are you teaching me today, Hops?"
Hops hummed in thought a moment, putting her hand to her chin as she considered the options, snapping her fingers when she'd come to a conclusion. "I know! A Peach Hellini would be perfect." She dug around under the bar and popped up with a recipe card she'd written specifically for mixology lessons, handing it over to Cora. "Simple! Champagne, fresh peach juice, my secret ingredient, and a peach slice garnish, served innnnn…" She grabbed a glass with wings on either side of it, smacking it down on the table with enough force to make a crack form on the base. "This glass! Oh, oops, aha… ok, maybe not this glass. You saw nothing… .Again." She quickly hid the cracked glass and got out another, setting it down much more gentle, exhaling softly.
Cora looked at her with a look of mild amusement before nodding firmly. "Seems simple enough to me." He pushed himself gently off the bar and moved a little closer to watch as she gathered her ingredients, setting the peach juice, a can of sliced peaches, and a champagne bottle down on the bar top.
Hops unscrewed the juice lid and opened the champagne bottle, setting them down and grabbing a drink pick to stir with. "Canned peaches work best in a bar setting for convenience sake, but I suggest fresh if you're making it at home." She pulled the tab lid off and drained the juice off, commenting how it was mostly sugar water and wouldn't be a great substitute for the real juice. "It'd make it taste cheap, but hey if you're into that, who am I to stop you.." She dropped a peach slice into the glass before pouring some of the champagne into the glass, turning her head and taking a quick sip before setting it back down on the bar, and then poured some of the juice over, stirring with the drink pick. "Don't forget to top it off, not too much, don't let it go over." She splashed a bit more of the champagne (of course stealing another sip for herself as well) and grabbed a small bag. "Ah- why don't you look away?"
Cora raised an eyebrow, a bit puzzled. "Why?"
Hops huffed softly. "Just do it, ok?" As Cora shrugged and turned around Hops grabbed a small can and cracked it open, splashing the tiniest amount she could into the glass, jumping when Cora peeked and suddenly spoke.
"Oh my- is that fucking Red Bun." He snickered to himself, watching her sputter and try to hide the can.
"Ah- listen- you know- with the wings and the such- and. Um." She looked at the drink and the pouch, tossing the pouch at him and downing the drink as fast as physically possible. "You know where everything is, good luck, have fun, I think Angora needs me, byeee." She quickly slipped past him and shuffled around the bar to run off to where Angora was sitting, leaving Cora to give it a shot himself.
"Ah- damn, well, it can't be that hard. I just watched her do it in seconds." He quickly followed all of the same steps and smiled proudly to himself, sipping on the finished concoction and looking at the pouch she'd tossed at him. Time to go home and make drinks for Limin.
