Tarot Date
Lydia took a deep breath, steeling her nerves; she was not used to going on dates, much less blind dates. She made sure to make it on time, but she hadn’t seen the other Succubun she’d been set up with… oh, she really hoped she wasn’t being stood up. Making one more cursory glance at her wrist watch, she checked the time. Fortunately, it didn’t take terribly long for the other Succubun to arrive. Lydia already had a table ready, and she stood up to greet the other.
“Hi,” she greeted, trying to keep her voice steady and free of nervousness. The other Succubun was quite lovely, and she tried not to stare, though her blush might have been rather obvious by now. “I’m here for the, um… the blind date. Lydia. It’s nice to meet you.”
"Ah, I apologize for being so late! I'm Bellamira," The sparkling Succubun hastily walked over and sat in the chair across from Lydia after giving her a greeting kiss on the cheek, "I was a little too caught up with my sleeping, and getting ready, heehee…"
"I hope I didn't ruin this date too much with my lateness, as it is quite nice to meet you as well. I was kind of worried you would've left before I was able to get here..." Bellamira blushed and smiled sheepishly as her eyes met Lydia's. She was adorned in a sparkly, deep blue and purple babydoll dress along with a star-shaped shoulder bag, perfectly accentuating her starry features and deep purple hair. She had tied her hair into two braids, one flowing gently on each side of her shoulder.
“Oh, that’s all right,” Lydia replied, giggling nervously, her cheeks only more reddened by the greeting kiss. She smiled, sitting back down and making a little gesture with her hand as she spoke: “I— I didn’t mind the wait. I made sure to, um, save the table for us, so nobody else could grab it.”
Running a hand through her silky navy blue hair, she couldn’t help but admire Bellamira's dazzling appearance. Lydia herself was dressed in a fairly formal-looking silk button-up blouse and a snug-fitting knee-length pencil skirt, accentuating her frame. She had stockings on, starting at her thighs and ending just above her hooves.
“I hope you don’t mind me saying this, but your outfit is very lovely, Bellamira.”
"Oh," Bellamira held her hands up to her cheeks as she cooed, "Thank you~~ That means so much…I wanted to pick something that I thought would be a good judge of my vibes, but something not *extremely* flashy." She lowered her hands back onto her lap, slightly yawning as she did so, "...You are also quite stunning, you know that?"
She could feel her cheeks begin to blush more the more she gazed up at down at her outfit and hair and face. Lydia was so beautiful, her silky, blue hair, her body conforming outfit; so professional yet quite hot!; Bellamira almost didn't feel deserving of such compliments. She cleared her throat to try and bring her mind back from her wandering thoughts, "...E-Er, so, would you like me to go up and order? If so, what would you like?"
Lydia couldn’t help but grin at Bellamira’s words, quite honored and appreciative. “Oh, thank you—yes, that would be great. That’s a very kind offer.” Her hands fidgeted as she spoke, thinking about her order and how to respond; she wasn’t particularly used to going on dates—or having them so well, for that matter, but… so far, so good!
“I would love chamomile tea, if they have it. Would you, um, like me to join you, or shall I wait here?”
Her tone of voice was almost giddy, though her words remained at her usual soft, low volume.
"Oh, don't worry about joining me, I'll take care of it~" Bellamira happily offered, then took her wallet out of her purse, leaving it upon the table as she went to get their drinks.
As she was gone, Lydia noticed her open purse, and she could see within. There was not much in it, just the standard stuff, some lipgloss, some tissues, but there was also a deck of cards. It appeared to be some tarot cards? Perhaps Bellamira was into that kind of stuff.
Eventually, Bellamira returned to their table with two cups of chamomile tea, along with some donut holes she also got. She sat back down and opened up the box of goodies, "Hope you don't mind, but I also got some of these donut hole things, I'm kinda hungry…"
“I don’t mind at all,” Lydia reassured her with a quick nod of her head. “Come to think of it, I’m actually quite hungry myself.” She couldn’t help but think about the tarot cards she’d seen—or, what appeared to be them. Admittedly, Lydia was curious, though she’d hold off questioning for a moment to thank Bellamira for the tea.
“Thank you for picking up the tea,” she added with a soft smile, taking a tentative sip from her own tea—it was hot, but delicious. She’d always found chamomile to be rather calming; it was one of the few things that really soothed her nerves. Not that she was nervous in a bad way; really, she was very excited to go on this date.
“I can’t help but notice you ordered chamomile, too — you have good taste, Bellamira.” She smiled, adding on, “Do you mind if I take one of the donut holes?”
"Oh, no no, I don't mind, go ahead~" Bellamira smiled and pushed the box towards Lydia, then laid her head against her propped up arm. She took one of the donut holes with her index and thumb, eating it and licking the sticky sugar glaze off her fingers, smiling warmly, "And yeah, thank you. Chamomile is so soothing, it's able to put me to sleep just like that…W-Well, usually when I want to sleep, heehee~"
She took a hesitant, yet long, drink from her hot cup once she finished cleaning her fingers off, enjoying the soothing liquid running down her throat despite its heat. She licked the remaining tea off her lips, then gazed back at Lydia, "So, I saw you were looking at, assumably, the cards in my purse. You want a tarot reading~? I'm quite good at it, methinks!"
Lydia’s eyes lit up at the suggestion. “Oh, I would love that,” she answered without a moment of hesitation. Taking out a donut hole from the box, she took a careful bite, chewing it and taking in the flavor—she admittedly was rather weak to sweets, having quite a sweet tooth. Once she finished chewing and swallowing, she cleared her throat, adding, “I’ve actually never had a tarot reading done before.”
She laughed under her breath, smiling shyly. “Perhaps you could explain the process to me? If you wouldn’t mind, that is. I’m very, um, curious about how it works.”
"Of course~" Bellamira cooed as she took another sip of her tea, taking out the cards from her bag and removing the rubber band around them, "Okay, so, you give me a question, like, 'What am I supposed to learn today?' or 'How are my relationships going?', and then," she yawned mid-explanation, "I'll shuffle the cards and pick three off the top of the shuffled deck, then explain the cards in the order of past, present, and future."
It seemed simple enough, but also seemed a little too…vague to be true. She could just be generic and broad in the answers she gave to each card, but maybe she was actually good at reading people unlike other tarot readers? Hopefully this was the case, she didn't seem to be like the type of Succubun to mislead others.
Lydia nodded in understanding, appreciative of Bellamira’s explanation. “Oh, that sounds very straightforward. Thank you for explaining that to me,” she replied, running her fingers through her hair and taking a little sip of her chamomile tea. “Okay! Um… I’ll have to think for a moment on what I’d like to ask.”
Taking a deep breath, she took in all of the lovely aromas of the cafe. Lydia had never been much for coffee, as caffeine made her a little too wired, but she always enjoyed the fragrance it had. Tapping her chin in contemplation, she figured out a question that wouldn’t sound ridiculous or embarrassing.
“Hmm… all right, how does this sound—will I have success in my social life in the future?”
She paused, certain to add, “I hope that is a fitting question. I’m just curious, as I’d… like to get to know more Succubuns that aren’t just my employees or co-workers.” Letting out a laugh, her blue-green gaze met Bellamira’s.
So, Bellamira gave Lydia a tarot reading, and the cards showed that perhaps Lydia would have some fortune coming up in her social life. Lydia thanked her with a smile, and the two Succubuns enjoyed a nice little tea date together, sipping chamomile tea and exchanging interests and stories.
It was nice, and Lydia appreciated it very much; sometimes, getting out and meeting other Succubuns really did pay off.
