hildegard's secret
In the Church of Sulfur, there resides a plentiful garden of roses out behind it, why wouldn't there be? Though, who took care of these flowers remained a mystery. When it came time, usually during the Matentine's season, all the roses bloomed beautifully with large, crimson petals, and always came well equipped with large thorns. The caretaker of such flowers also shared such a trait.
Hildegard came out in the dead of night, or whenever buns usually slept as to not notify anyone of her desperately kept secret. She didn't want anyone to know about what she did, lest it ruin her image.
Hildegard pulled out a bag of plant food she got from the black market, spreading it out among the just bloomed roses to give them something that would make their color and adoring smell increase to untapped potentials.
While she fertilized, she couldn't help but stop and smell one of the larger roses, inhaling deeply. It was the most familiar scent in the world to her - one that was feminine, yet musky, and always intensely romantic to all. A smile formed on her face as she gushed at her proud achievement. Hildegard never thought in her wildest dreams she would ever produce something as gorgeous as this garden.
She brought out her hidden, bright red watering can, filling it up with water from the faucet connected to the church wall. It didn't take long for her to run out as the patch of roses was so vast, but she simply went back and forth from the faucet to roses, never getting tired.
During Hildegard's watering, she heard some shuffling around the other patches of flowers, looking around in anxiousness. The hair on the back of her neck stood as she could feel the bullets of sweat begin. No, no one could be out at this hour, and even if there was, why would they be? Obviously they would be hiding something to-
"Nice garden." A deep voice grumbled from behind her, causing her to scream and drop the can with a clang. She slapped her hands over her mouth as she whipped around, slapping whoever it was. It was Dexter, to which she hissed under her breath, "Dexter, what the hell are you doing out here?! You almost scared the piss out of me!!"
"Ah," Dexter rubbed his cheek, his face continuing to be unemotional as he whispered in response, "sorry about that. I didn't mean to scare you. I just wanted to see how you were doing..."
"Why can't you do it at any other time?? I'm busy right now." Hildegard crossed her arms after picking up the can. Dexter raised an eyebrow after he lowered his arm, "...Busy doing what?"
"N...N-Nothing!! None of your business!!" She shielded the can under her arm, even though he had already seen what she had been doing. He just ignored her flippant attitude, approaching the rose patch and kneeling down to examine them. She immediately became defensive, stomping her heel, "Don't you dare touch those, I'll cut your fingers off if you do!!"
"Wasn't planning on it. Jeez. I just wanted to admire how beautiful they are." Dexter gazed at her for a moment, then turned back to the roses. He inhaled deeply, and memories began to flood his mind, "If you're the one who's been growin' these, you've done good."
"...Wh...What?" She blinked, a slight blush forming on her cheek. Dexter nodded as he stood to turn around, "Yeah, they're amazing, Hilda. They remind me so much of her..." He closed his eyes for a moment, to which Hildegard rubbed her arm in regret, "Well, thank you, Dexter...I'm glad they bring fond memories back to you..."
"...You're welcome. You've really go-"
"...But don't you DARE tell anyone I'm the one out here taking care of the roses!! It's my secret, and my secret only, got it?!"
"Ah." Dexter sighed and shook his head, Hildegard could never take a compliment before her pride took over. It was honestly surprisingly to him that she wasn't a pride succubun. Regardless, he nodded, "Yeah, you got it."
"Good. Now be a good little lust bunny, and mind your own business~"
Dexter did as asked, he got what he came here for so he had no more business here. Hildegard let out a sigh once he left, whew. That was one bullet she didn't think she could dodge, but did. Regardless, she went back to tending to her roses, the way of the world going back to how it was. Hildegard's intimate secret.
