Bad influence

The air’s dampness did not compare to the soiled ground. Perhaps the mud painting the pink succubun’s shoes were to earn the respect she wanted. It was a bad meeting spot, the kind of place you’d expect to die in a horror movie.
Clutching her hands together, Satin continued forward. Mud and chillness was something she would be forced to deal with. She didn’t want to run from this opportunity, not after Jackal had made her the offer to meet up. Perhaps a passing joke through tongue for Jackal but for Satin it was a chance. Her chance to finally bond and break the ice a little with the cold bun.

“I didn’t expect you to actually show up.”
Satin’s doll eyes perked at the familiar voice. It was Jackal – as expected.
The succubun’s face lit up with a sweet smile. Her pace hurried towards the other, barely able to contain herself.
“Weell! What can I say? I’m a bun everyone can rely on!” Her tone lingered with glee, soft and delicate; such contrast to the stoic and cool woman infront of her.

“Yeah.” Jackal replied. Her eyes traveling from Satin to the forest trees. A cigarette in hand, she began to inhale the smoke next.
Satin wasn’t very fond of the habit. It stank and ruins your lungs, a dumb habit to say.

“You know, perhaps instead of pushing bad habits you could maybe break down the ice a little~” Satin teased. She tried to make her tone as clear as possible in her intentions, a soft joke.
She earned herself a soft snort from Jackal; whom shook her head and lit a slight smirk.
“Aren’t you cute, doll?” Jackal turned to look down at her. “Perhaps I should but I find smoking melts that ice. Smoking and company.” She answered before she took another blow.

Satin thought to herself as the bun next to her drew a few blows. She really wanted Jackal to open up more and to earn Jackal’s respect, Jackal was closer to her brother than she was with her. Perhaps the reason was for her outwardness and extroverted self, it was possible that it scared Jackal off. They had been closer during their time under Gremory’s neglectful wing but the relationship between them now was different.
They both had grown and rightfully found their own peace after their past — Jackal closed herself off and Satin opened herself up.

Even if she was a few years younger, she still remained at a similar maturity and wanted to be taken seriously at that too.
“I don’t mind smoking with you.” Satin gulped her own thoughts. Yes, she didn’t like smoking and yes it was gross but if this would melt the ice a little.. it would be worth it.

“I’m sorry?” Jackal almost choked as she inhaled. She let out a surprised laugh and raised a brow at the little bun.
“Yeah! I don’t mind.” Satin repeated herself again, nodding to confirm her answer.

“Are you trying to get me killed? Silver's going twist my neck in two if you do.” Letting out a soft chuckle, she shook her head. It was an obvious joke based off the gruff bun’s tone but Satin didn’t regard it.
“We’ll simply keep it a secret then.” Satin nodded yet again, she tried to show her enthusiasm by holding her hands at her hips.

“Well then, if you say so.”
The bun was handed a fresh one out of the box, Jackal offering her the light in her other hand. The grin on Jackal’s face said it all — she found it funny.. but also endearing in a way.
"Don't blame me if we both end up skinned."

Satin grabbed the cig in one of her hands and took the lighter in her other. Her fingers struggled to hold the cigarette, she wasn’t directly sure on how to do it, however Jackal was quick to show her physically. She guided the bun to hold it between her index and middle finger.

With a few clicks, Satin managed to light the cigarette. She handed it back over to Jackal before she readied herself to inhale a smoke.
What followed after was a loud cough and a loud laugh from Jackal as she inhaled deeper than she should’ve.
“Easy easy there. Not too deep, this is your first one.” Jackal brought her hand to pat Satin’s back. “Go easy; light like this.”

Jackal demonstrated. Her inhale was almost subtle, as if she didn’t inhale at all, yet smoke still left her lips after she exhaled.
Satin tried it herself. Inhaling lightly and this time exhaling without a cough.
“Well then, has the ice melted?” The bun teased. Her doll eyes looking up at Jackal who wore a small smile.

“It’s a start.”
