There was a certain disdain that Mori felt as the air chilled and became a touch more crisp in Burrowgatory, despite what others might try to convince them about the ‘joys’ of Autumn.

Oh, but the cold just means you get to wear warm sweaters!’ - Nah, too restricting

There’s a ton of buns baking and so much food to enjoy with others!’ - Too many people

Well, what about baking by yourself?’ - Are you kidding? Waaaay too much effort.

But to top it off, of all the other inconveniences, nothing could compare to the awful, soggy, numerous amounts of fallen leaves that filled their personal swimming pool (more like a pond, with how it was kept). Teal blue hues stared into what was normally an averagely-kept waters, now blanketed by a plethora of orange, yellow, and browned leaves; what was a bun supposed to do now?! Clean it themself? No, this went back to why they refused to participate in other activities entirely; keeping to their lazy morals obviously. Heavens only knew where the pool net Mori did have at one point had ended up, in any case.

This only left him with one option; hiring help. Miraculously, the sloth bun was capable of keeping up with earning carats by some means, and they were no stranger to trying to get someone else to do the heavy lifting for them. Meandering back into their home, a call was made to one of the local cleaning services and a quick contract stricken up. Some few hours passed, and eventually a knock at the door was given. For a moment, Mori had entirely forgotten that they even had hired someone, lazily looking at the door and not even bothering to get up at first. It wasn’t until a second, more insistent knocking was made that the sloth bun rolled their eyes and gave a sigh, as if this was an inconvenience to them, and approached the door to open it.

“Hello?-- Oh.” An upward glance would make them realize that a maid doll was standing just outside, a suitcase properly held in her hands in front of her. The way this succubun carried herself starkly contrasted the other; not a single slouch to her pose, dress properly ironed, shoes shined? Man, Mori was starting to wonder just how many carats this was going to cost them.

“Evelynn, at your service,” She began, and it looked as though she would have extended a hand to the other but, they were at two entirely different levels. Instead, a pleasant smile was on her features and she continued, “-you called for the cleaning, right? Where should I begin?” Of course, she assumed that this was for the inside of the house, so it was a good thing she asked… for it caught her off guard to be led not to any one room in particular, but out in the backyard instead and directed towards the pool.

There.” Mori said, their brows furrowing as they pointed at the criminal leaves still squatting about in his pool. “I want this all gone. That’s it.”

“That’s– that’s it? Nothing else just… the pool?” Surely they had to be joking, right-

“Nothing else.”

They were… not joking. Well, alright. A breath was taken, before she placed her suitcase down before and popped the latches off. A veritable arsenal of tools and supplies were revealed within, with the pride bun humming to herself carefully as she scanned over them with a painted fingernail. “No… not that… nor this… aha!” A handle was pulled out amid others, seeming at first to be just a stumpy little net from its length. But oh no, it could extend, several feet at that. “Here we are, perfect.”  Her gaze then moves to the bun that had hired her, shooing them away with a wave of the hand, “Don’t worry, this will be a breeze. You’re free to go back inside, and I will let you know when the work is done.”

“...Yeah, okay.” Mori had no reason to complain really, so they simply shrugged and walked back off into their home. Trust the professional, she looked like she knew what she was doing.

Thus, Evelynn went to work just as she normally did, of course taking the extra steps to make sure that not a single crevice of mess was missed. After netting all the leaves off the surface and dumping them away, she’d even get on her knees to carefully scrape out those that had sunk to the bottom. The maid was even mindful to check the pool’s filter, cleaning out the leaves that threatened to clog it up should they be allowed to remain. And, she even treated the pool to get rid of that murky green look to it; restoring the water to a point where one could actually see the bottom again. All the effort Evelynn always wanted to put in to make sure that a client was rightfully pleased by her work, wanting to do all she could to keep herself as a highly rated maid for hire.

Once she had packed up her things and made sure no mess was left behind, the maid would walk through Mori’s house again with a self-satisfied smile upon her features. “Everything has been taken care of, dear. I assure you will find my work beyond satisfactory. And do call again if there are any other nooks and crannies that could use a healthy cleaning.”

Mori was, once again, perched upon the large bean bag chair they used as a sofa, looking over to Evelynn and giving a barely enthusiastic wave. “Thanks. …Your carats are on the counter.”

…Well, it wasn’t raving excitement, but she really could not expect more out of this peculiar bun at that point. So instead she simply resigns to a nod, walking off to pick up a small pouch of carats left for her on the countertop near the door. No tip? Rude.

And with that, the pride bun took her leave.

It might have taken a day or two afterwards, but eventually Mori did go to see the state of their beloved pool. And, well… perhaps it was a bit too clean for them! All they wanted gone was the leaves… not the atmosphere! They liked the green hue, the algae smell! What an awful maid experience, never again!
